CELPIP Test Centers in Canada: Every City, Test Days and Fees (2026)

CELPIP runs at more than 60 test centers in Canada, in 58 cities across all ten provinces. This page lists every test city, shows when tests run and what they cost, and walks you through finding an open seat. Everything here was checked against the official CELPIP website (celpip.ca) in October 2026. Fees and dates can change, so confirm on celpip.ca before you pay.

There are no CELPIP test cities in Yukon, the Northwest Territories or Nunavut. Some cities have more than one test center, and the official date finder shows the address of each one.

If your city is full, look at its neighbors. The Greater Toronto Area alone has 11 test cities: Aurora, Brampton, Markham, Milton, Mississauga, North York, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Thornhill, Toronto and Vaughan. Metro Vancouver has five: Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and Vancouver.

When tests run

The official date finder only offers sessions on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in the morning or the afternoon. If you work weekends, plan your time off early.

Which test to book

• CELPIP-General tests all four skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking) and takes about 3 hours. Book this one for permanent residence, work and visa applications, and professional designation.

• CELPIP-General LS tests only listening and speaking and takes about 1 hour. It is accepted only for Canadian citizenship.

How to find an open seat

1. Go to celpip.ca and choose Find a Test Date.

2. Pick your province and your city.

3. Pick the test type: General, or General LS for citizenship.

4. Choose a date range: this month, the next three months, or all test dates.

5. Turn on Show Available Tests Only, so full sessions disappear from the list.

6. Register and pay online. Test centers do not take registrations.

If nothing shows up, widen the date range first, then try another city in your province.

Rules that cost people their test

• Arrive 45 minutes early. Check-in closes 15 minutes before the start. If you arrive after that, you cannot take the test, and you get no refund and no transfer.

• Canceling: cancel at least 7 calendar days before your test and you get 50% of your fee back. Less than 7 days before, there is no refund.

• Changing your date: a transfer requested at least 7 calendar days before your test costs $50 + tax. Closer to the test, call the CELPIP office.

• Retaking: you can register for only one test session within any 5 calendar days.

• ID: check the official list of accepted ID on celpip.ca before test day.

After the test

• Your scores are online within 3 to 4 business days after your test date.

• For immigration, your results must be less than 2 years old when you apply (an IRCC rule).

What score to aim for

Your test center does not change your score, but your target score should shape when you book. For Express Entry, the Federal Skilled Worker Program needs CLB 7 in all four skills, which is a CELPIP score of 7 in each. The Canadian Experience Class needs CLB 7 for TEER 0 or 1 jobs and CLB 5 for TEER 2 or 3 jobs. For citizenship, adults aged 18 to 54 need CLB 4 in listening and speaking. CELPIP levels match CLB levels one to one, so a CELPIP 7 is a CLB 7.
